Now What?
Now that we have a hearing date, it's time for all of
us to be citizen activists.
Here is a list of actions that would be very helpful.
a.) Spread the word about NAIS and SB475.
b.) Compile informational articles and written testimonials
about how NAIS will affect people and farms in MA.
c.) Have a good turnout that day to show support for
stopping NAIS in MA.
d.) Get people to personally testify about the impact
of NAIS
on their lives, if it goes through.
I'll have more guidelines soon about oral testimony,
but we can give as much written information
as we feel is needed.
e.) Continue to offer informational meetings about NAIS,
contact me for more information on setting one up in your area.
f.) As time gets closer, press coverage of NAIS and its
impacts
will be very helpful. Contact your area cable or radio station,
newspaper, etc, and see if they will do a story on your and NAIS.
g.) And lastly, though I hate to remind people, this will cost us some
money. At this point, it's been covered by our family, and has been
fairly low cost. But the printing and postage involved in this effort
will take a heavy toll on our already tight budget.
Any contributions, suggestions, or donations of time to stuff
envelopes will be gratefully accepted.
Thank you,
Pat & Dave Stewart
