Two Virginia farms received visits from the USDA and state game wardens, resulting in the slaughter of a great many hogs, pigs, and some pets. For more information visit www.nonais.org USDA stated that the swine were infected with pseudorabies, which turned out to be false. This disease is not a zoonoses that affects humans, is basically extinct in the USA, and is recoverable. The proper tests were not done in the first case, and only partially done in the second case. The tests confirmed that the pigs were NOT sick.
