HOW TO OPT OUT: According to MDAR's letter, if you want to "opt out" of being enrolled in the USDA Premises ID Database, you must write a letter stating you want to opt out and send it to Joao Tavares of the MDAR via US mail, email, or a fax.

Be sure to keep a copy of your letter or email. If you use email, use the option for a "read receipt." This way, you should get a reply that proves your email was delivered. If you send a letter in the U.S. mail, send a second copy with a green certified mail return receipt. Make sure you send your first copy through regular mail, though, because return receipts slow down delivery.
